Prophetic Dream: 5 Demonic Spirits that War Against the End-Time Church
One Sunday I taught through Ephesians chapter 6 verse by verse, emphasizing the importance of wearing the full armor of God in the last days.
Verse 12 stood out to me and carried a weighty anointing for our congregation: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12 NIV).
God unveiled a simple, three-step strategy to freedom that I taught His people. We were to seek deliverance, devote ourselves to discipleship, and walk in dominion over the devil. The response as I closed my sermon and gave the altar call was extraordinary. Demonic manifestations broke out across the room, and many people were delivered. I thought this was unusual at the time, but we proceeded in faith and knew the Kingdom of God was in our midst (see Luke 11:20).
The next week, I ministered in another state, and the pattern repeated itself. In my prayer time at the hotel before the meeting, the Holy Spirit prompted me to teach the same message on spiritual warfare out of Ephesians and then move directly into altar ministry. As I obeyed His leading, mass demonic manifestations and deliverances occurred in a room full of Christians. If I’m completely honest, I was shocked. After I witnessed these unusual church services, both in our local congregation and in another part of the country, God had my attention!
Over the next eighteen months, in nearly every church and conference where I ministered, I continued to encounter many demonic manifestations and deliverances—among Christians. In fact, I went out of my way to make sure they were not unbelievers. But as I began to share these experiences with church leaders, I was mocked and upbraided. “Christians cannot have demons!” they scoffed. Sadly, as hunger among the followers of Jesus for training in spiritual warfare and deliverance is increasing, there is alarming resistance from those who occupy church pulpits every Sunday.
Five Demonic Spirits
It has been challenging to encounter increasing demonic activity and deliverance within our churches, yet face so much resistance from church leaders. I retreated to God in prayer and pored over the four Gospels and the book of Acts. I asked Him to show me if I had fallen into error or deception. Was what I had witnessed nearly everywhere I preached false, fake, or even fraudulent?
I remember a particular meeting in Minnesota. A woman in the back began to scream and hiss in the middle of the message. The pastor jumped to his feet in embarrassment as the security team escorted her out of the sanctuary. I knew in my heart that she was tormented by devils, but those around her only saw a woman out of order who needed to be put back in her place. They saw flesh and blood when they needed to see the power—the perpetrator—behind the person.
Could it be we have created demon daycares in the local church and don’t even realize it? What if we have created safe places for devils in our services? Playgrounds, where they are comforted and coddled, rather than confronted and cast out?
As the burden intensified, I wrestled with God regarding the increase of demonic activity surrounding my ministry. Over time His conviction surfaced, and it guided me through many circumstances and situations. I do not believe a Christian can be possessed by the devil. A true Christian is possessed by Christ. However, many believers have unyielded areas of their lives where they are afflicted and affected by demons. When we give our authority to the enemy, we open a door to demonic attachments. In these situations, when believers have given the enemy legal access through personal sin, unforgiveness, or generational bondage, evil and unclean spirits must be expelled (see Matthew 10:1). Just as Jesus cast out devils from those who went to synagogue, so there will be many Christians who need to receive deliverance in the church (see Mark 1:39).
As I continued to seek the heart of God concerning spiritual warfare and how to prepare the end-time church for the last days, I embarked on a long fast. One night I had a prophetic dream and a realm of wisdom and revelation opened to me, prompting me to write this book. God desires to warn the church about five key areas of spiritual warfare that we must prepare to stand against in the last days. It is of utmost importance, however, that we have a sound theological and biblical perspective on this subject matter.
In the next two chapters, I will lay a biblical foundation for who we are in Christ and remind us of the “all authority” (Matthew 28:18 NIV) we’ve been given that leads to “more than conqueror” living (Romans 8:37 NIV). It is only as we understand and experience the finished work of the cross that we will sit down with Him in the heavenly places (see Ephesians 1:18-23). From here we can confront and overcome the enemy’s five-fold warfare, satan’s counteroffensive to the five-fold ministry of Christ, that has infiltrated our churches and left many of them for dead: void of the presence of God, and impotent in their cities. In Chapters 4 through 10, I will expose the demonic agendas and ideologies at work in many Christian communities and provide practical keys for victory.
A Shocking Prophetic Dream
While fasting I had a prophetic dream. In it, I saw a beautiful woman dressed in wedding garments. She had a golden crown upon her head and a sword in her hand. She wore commando boots and was ready for war. Radiant and tender in appearance, she was also fierce—full of courage and righteousness. This woman was a warrior and a worshipper who represented the end-time Church in her full-orbed radiance and splendor.
A trumpet blast sounded in the dream and the warrior bride quickly turned and looked toward the east. I heard the sound of galloping horses and the rumblings of world war. Suddenly, a voice from Heaven spoke, and the warrior bride listened intently. “You must come into My counsel and receive My words, My strategies, and My battle plans, before you enter into the war.”
The end-time bride bowed in agreement and said, “Yes, my Lord.” She took her seat at a long wooden table. A beautiful and shining book, with the word “Remembrance” carved into it, was handed to her. It reminded me of Malachi 3:16-18 (NASB):
Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord listened attentively and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and esteem His name. “And they will be Mine,” says the Lord of armies, “on the day that I prepare My own possession, and I will have compassion for them just as a man has compassion for his own son who serves him.” So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.
Activation
Get a new notebook and write the word Remembrance on the front cover. Ask the Lord what He has written in your book of remembrance and record what He shows you or whispers in your ear. This can be an ongoing encounter that you leave and reenter, the same way you walk in and out of a room of your house. Don’t rush or get frustrated with the process. Enjoy it and thank Him for sharing His heart with you.
I looked on in the dream as the end-time warrior bride interacted with God and received instructions from Him concerning spiritual warfare in the last days. Unusual joy and laughter filled her, and I found myself lighthearted and peaceful. I did not sense any fear or anxiety whatsoever, but there was a spirit of sobriety and alertness. A scroll was placed in front of her and I saw on the top of it the title, “Five-Fold Warfare.” The contents were:
Family Warfare
Stop Tolerating Jezebel
Exposing the Religious Spirit
The Orphan Spirit
Witchcraft Attack
When the end-time warrior bride finished reading the scroll, she stood up from the table with wisdom and understanding, knowing the strategy of her enemy and how to overcome them. As she turned toward the battle, an army appeared behind her dressed in wedding attire. There were too many warriors to count, waving flags and banners of fire with the crest of the Lion of the tribe of Judah on them. Many came to dance, worship, pray, and sing. There was a unity and confidence among the troops of the end-time army that was glorious and wonderful.
I woke up in my hotel room and continued to feel the swirl of Heaven. The glory and peace I experienced was indescribable. As I lay there in tears, God said to me, “You must tell the end-time bride what you have seen and heard. You must reveal the five-fold warfare that is coming and teach them how to destroy the works of satan in the last days.”
Prayer
King Jesus, thank You that deliverance is the children’s bread. It is my bread. I accept Your invitation to be a part of the warrior bride and ask You to lead me into the fullness of my inheritance so that You can get Your inheritance. I decree over my region: this is not a time of hibernation, but preparation! Awake, sleepers! I will seek deliverance, devote myself to discipleship, and walk in dominion over the devil. In Your name, Jesus. Amen.
