Operating in the Healing Gift
What God Says
And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere (Luke 9:6 ESV).
He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal (Luke 9:2 ESV).
Today’s Insight
The Holy Spirit gives us gifts that work as spiritual power tools to share the gospel and introduce people to a love encounter with Jesus. The Holy Spirit will anoint us to preach and demonstrate the gospel through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that the Spirit of the Lord anointed Him to proclaim the good news and open the eyes of the blind and set the captives free. Healings proclaim the good news of Jesus.
The gospel of the kingdom was Jesus’ primary message. In Luke 9 and 10 Jesus teaches us His ministry strategy to proclaim and demonstrate the Kingdom of God here on earth after He healed the sick. Healing the sick is a form of power evangelism, as it points to Christ Jesus our healer. I have seen countless lives transformed to live for Jesus when their body was healed. My turning point to Jesus came after He powerfully and mercifully healed my physical body during a time in my life I believed God didn’t like me, much less want to heal me. Now I am able to evangelize the gospel through healing and miracles. God desires every believer to do the same. If you are a Christian, then you are qualified to minister healing to others.
Operating in the gift of healing may happen in different ways. In scripture we find healing taking place through the laying on of hands, touch, a prayer cloth, a spoken word, a shadow, speaking from a distance, and other various ways. Tommy and I have seen the power of God heal people through modern ways of technology including live streaming, text, books, and phone calls. I’ve seen deaf ears and blind eyes open, tumors dissolve, metal in bodies bend, dyslexia healed, thy- roids healed, and much more without anyone touching them. They were just in the presence of the Lord. God’s Spirit transcends time and space.
The gift of healing often works closely with the word of knowledge. The Holy Spirit can oftentimes reveal to us a condition that someone has that needs healing.

Daily Risk
After you’ve reflected on the scriptures and have made your decrees, take time in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to show you who needs healing in their body. It could be someone you know or someone you do not know. The goal is to glorify Jesus and lead people into a love encounter with Jesus. No matter the outcome, you are obeying what Jesus asked us to do. If appropriate, lay hands on them, call them, or have a virtual meeting. Either way, use action today. Action moves us from theorists to practitioners of the gospel.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, I thank You that You have anointed me to heal the sick. I receive this by faith now; help me to exercise my faith as I step out in obedience today to heal the sick in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Healing Reveals God’s Nature
What God Says
I am the Lord who heals you (Exodus 15:26 NLT).
He sent His word and healed them (Psalm 107:20 NKJV).
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5 NKJV).
The glory of God’s presence is the realm of heal- ing. This is the realm where impossibilities bend their knee to the name of Jesus! Sickness, disease, infirmity, affliction, and demons can’t coexist in the glory of God’s presence!
Healing is a way that God shows us His glory and divine nature. If you and I are going to steward a life of healing, there are some truths that we must know in order to partner with the flow of God’s presence.
Throughout Scripture, we find that God many times revealed Himself to Israel as the God who heals. “I am the Lord who heals you” (Exodus 15:26 NKJV). God spoke those words to about three million people! “He also brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none feeble among His tribes” (Psalm 105:37 NKJV). God brought some three million people into the promised land and none of them were afflicted or infirmed! Psalm 107:20 (NKJV) declares that, “He sent His word and healed them.” We can conclude here that healing is part of God’s divine nature.
As children of God, we have now been given the privilege to reveal our heavenly Father’s nature to a lost and dying world. Let’s activate these truths by speaking these decrees over our lives.

Find someone today who needs healing and go pray with them. Reach out to those you are contending for as it pertains to healing and let them know you are still praying and believing for healing breakthrough.
Prayer
Lord, thank You that since I have received Jesus into my heart I am now a partaker of Your divine nature. Thank You that I have been privileged to release Your healing power everywhere I go. Amen.
