May the Force of These Decrees Be With You
Today, we commemorate “May the 4th be with you.”
Another read and you may get it: May the Fourth (like the Force) Be With You. Okay, so we are a company filled with Science Fiction fans, from Star Wars (personally, I am a major fan of the original series: New Hope through Return of the Jedi and Doctor Who ... namely, classic Dr. Who but he has nothing to do with May the 4th). So, how does this at all relate to our mandate to steward timely and powerful prophetic words?
When decreed, the right words have a supernatural force. Both of our imprints, Destiny Image and Harrison House, carry multiple books by trusted ministry leaders writing about the supernatural power of your words. From faith classics by Charles Capps (The Tongue: A Creative Force and Authority in Three Worlds) to modern bestsellers like Brenda Kunneman’s The Daily Decree, Jennifer LeClaire’s Victory Decrees, and Tommy and Miriam Evans’s, Decrees that Unlock Heaven's Power, I pay attention when the Spirit of the Lord seems to be highlighting a certain topic (and multiple books come out written around that subject).
We do not specifically go out of our way to find new decrees books—especially, lining up a whole bunch of them over a 1-2 year period. It happens organically, as I believe God is reminding us of how powerful the right words are.
So, I want to give you a Scripture that people do not tend to focus on when speaking of Decree, Confession, or The Power of Words. And yet, this might be the most powerful and foundational verse to give a context for why we believe in the power of speaking anointed Words and making bold decrees.
In John 6:63, Jesus says: “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” This is why it's vital to be armed and equipped with Bible-based, Holy Spirit-anointed decrees: when you speak what God is saying, you will see what God says come to pass. Bottom line: When we say what Jesus would say, those words actually become a supernatural substance. They become spirit and life. But the key is speaking what He would say.
We don’t have the right to go around willy nilly “declaring and decreeing” any old thing we want, need or desire. God is not our butler or a supernatural Santa Claus. But, when we come into agreement with what God says, and put His words in our mouths, I repeat, we will start to see what God said.
This year, we’ve complied these decrees to upgrade your prayer life and speak new, fresh life into your words.
So I encourage you on May the 4th... do not discount the force of your words. Life and death is in the power of the tongue (see Prov. 18:21). This is why we want to offer these trusted resources to you, as these authors have done the heavy lifting, study and hard work to bring you solid, sound, and supernatural Bible-based decrees that will equip you to hit the target as you pray.
