Ceaseless Prayer: The Heavenly Dialogue that Unlocks Your Miracle
I want to encourage you to have the kind of faith that operates in a ceaseless prayer.
You may not have lived during those very special times, or maybe you did, but you still need a revival in your soul. Perhaps you have experienced some coolness in your spirit that needs to be rekindled so that you will burn like fire as the saints of yesteryear used to burn with. One thing I know for sure—God hears desperate prayers from the hearts of desperate people. We are to pray loud prayers, audacious prayers, fearless prayers, and the God-kind of prayers. Prayer in its simplest form is communication with our Creator. Prayer is our assignment as a believer. Prayer is the avenue to get to our moment of miracle because anything spiritual is built by prayer.
Jesus taught that we ought always to pray and not to faint (see Luke 18:1). Jesus very emphatically said when you pray, when you fast, and when you give. There is an expectation for every believer to do what Jesus instructed us to do. The psalmist put it this way:
In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly (Psalm 5:3 NIV).
Sometimes when we come to God we feel as if we must come with our thees, thuses, and thous, but what I found out in my until times is that prayer in its simplest form is just talking to God like you would talk to your best friend. We want to sometimes impress God with our words, postures, and intellect, but the Father just simply wants us to come. The Bible says that God would come down “in the cool of the day” to talk to Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:8). What I know about God is that He will come in the cool of the day or in the middle of your hot mess to talk to you. He will meet you right where you are.
Our job and duty is to pray. Just pray! That’s all! Very simply put! We labor in His vineyard. It is the Lord’s vineyard and not ours. Matthew 9:38 says, “Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (NKJV).
Let me give you an example. You probably don’t get goose- bumps every time you have to go in to your nine-to-five job every day to labor for someone else’s vision. However, your employer is the one who thought about the particular job that you are assigned to. It is their creativity that put you in a position to get a job to help make their dream become a reality— thus, your paycheck. In the same way, as children of the Most High God, it is our labor in prayer for the Father’s agenda that makes His dreams possible. When we labor in prayer from the Father’s perspective, something great always happens. That is the reason He says when you pray. It is expected!
Jesus said, “Men [and women] ought always to pray, and not to faint” (Luke 18:1). Sometimes you don’t know how to pray and that is why Jude said, “Build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit” (Jude 20 NLT).
I think one of the things that we forget is that prayer is conversational. In other words, prayer is a dialogue, not a monologue. So one of the things that I have learned is to be still and quiet before the Lord and listen to what He says.
I can’t tell you how often instruction would come as Jamie and I would pray together, separately, or most of the night. During those times, the Spirit of God was always talking, instructing, encouraging, admonishing, and building us up. We prayed with His agenda in mind: “Father, ‘Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven’” (Matthew 6:10 NKJV).
Jesus wants to do for you everything you can imagine so that His Father may receive all glory and honor. Believe me when I tell you, every time I see Kaylee with a microphone in her hand, declaring and worshiping and preaching and prophesying, I know the Father gets more pleasure out of it than I could ever imagine. When I see her throw her head back and begin to laugh, just like her Grandma Jacobs used to laugh with every fiber of her being, the Father gets pleasure from it, and hell boils over with disgust because of it!
Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, I come before You with bold and audacious prayers, expecting You to hear and answer these petitions! I will not relent; I will move forward in faith, believing that I receive when I pray! Amen.
Decree
My prayers are always heard by God, and He loves to see me win! I will win in this situation because satan is a liar! I will keep the Lord ever before me, and I will not give up!
